Eindhoven
Permanent Job, Temporary Job

Job description

As a Consultant MRI Electronics Engineer, you will bring your technical expertise to different R&D environments and projects related to MRI systems and medical imaging. Your projects may vary from supporting the development of a specific MRI subsystem to integrating and improving existing technologies, solving complex technical issues, or contributing to larger system-level development programs. Your technical focus will be within electronics and the challenging RF/EMC environment of MRI systems. Depending on the project, you may work on hardware development, RF integration, EMC-related challenges, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting or system integration. As a consultant, you are expected to quickly understand new technical environments, work effectively with different teams and take ownership of your topics with a high degree of independence. Over time, you will have the opportunity to work with different clients and apply your MRI expertise to a variety of engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support different clients and R&D projects involving MRI systems and medical imaging technology.
  • Contribute to the development, integration, testing and improvement of electronic systems and subsystems for MRI equipment.
  • Analyse technical challenges and translate requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Work with electronics, RF, EMC and electromagnetic interactions within the MRI environment.
  • Support hardware development, prototyping, bring-up, debugging and testing.
  • Investigate technical issues and identify root causes and effective solutions.
  • Support RF and EMC/EMI investigations, measurements and troubleshooting.
  • Work across interfaces between electronics, RF, mechanical, software and systems engineering.
  • Contribute to system integration, verification and validation activities.
  • Adapt quickly to different clients, projects, technical environments and ways of working.
  • Take ownership of technical topics and proactively determine the actions, stakeholders and resources required to move them forward.
  • Communicate technical findings and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, design documentation and test documentation.
  • Support the transition of developed solutions into integrated MRI systems and project handover.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, RF Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional experience working with MRI systems or MRI-related technology — this is a must-have.
  • Experience developing, integrating, testing or troubleshooting electronics within an MRI environment.
  • Good understanding of electronic hardware and electronic systems.
  • Experience with RF and/or EMC/EMI, preferably within complex electromagnetic environments.
  • Understanding of topics such as signal integrity, grounding, shielding and electromagnetic interference.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, debugging and technical troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable working across different engineering disciplines and technical interfaces.
  • Able to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and identify what is required to solve a technical problem.
  • Self-propelling and able to work independently: you take ownership, define next steps and drive technical topics forward without requiring detailed instructions.
  • Comfortable working in a consultancy environment and adapting to different clients, teams and projects.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.

Why This Role?

This role offers the opportunity to build a long-term career as an MRI engineering specialist, working on different projects and with different clients across the MRI and medical imaging industry. Rather than focusing on one specific project, you will continuously apply and expand your MRI expertise across different technical challenges, organizations and development environments.
