Business Analyst (Middle/Senior)

Ho Chi Minh City
English, Vietnamese

Job description

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and engineering / IT teams to understand business objectives, risks, expectations, and translate them into clear, actionable requirements and solution options
  • Lead end-to-end business analysis activities: from requirement elicitation and documentation (BRD, FRS, user stories, acceptance criteria) to supporting solution design and delivery
  • Analyze and model current and future business processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and propose optimized, data-driven solutions that support digital transformation initiatives
  • Create and maintain key requirement artifacts, including Business Requirement Documents, Functional Requirement Specifications, process flows, and data models, ensuring traceability and alignment with business goals
  • Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to help stakeholders visualize proposed solutions and validate requirements early in the lifecycle
  • Plan, prepare, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT): define test cases, coordinate with users, track defects, and validate that delivered solutions meet agreed requirements and quality standards
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners, ensuring that user stories are well-defined, estimated, and aligned with roadmap and stakeholder priorities
  • Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies (refinement, planning, reviews, retrospectives) and act as Product Owner when required, representing business interests to the delivery team
  • Prepare user manuals, training materials, and conduct user training sessions; gather feedback and translate it into continuous improvement actions for products and processes
  • Drive continuous process optimization by identifying improvement opportunities, challenging existing practices, and promoting digital solutions within engineering and IT organizations
  • Lead requirement workshops independently, facilitate discussions between Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Business Stakeholders, and influence solution direction through structured analysis and data-driven recommendations
  • Mentor junior Business Analysts, share best practices in requirement engineering and Agile delivery, and contribute to building a strong BA community within the project

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience in business analysis
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within engineering or IT organizations, working on complex, cross-functional projects
  • Strong experience in requirement engineering: eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements as BRDs, FRS, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data models
  • Proven track record in business process analysis and optimization, able to map “as-is” and “to-be” processes and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Hands-on experience working with Agile/Scrum teams: managing product backlogs, supporting Product Owners, and participating actively in Scrum ceremonies
  • Solid stakeholder management skills: able to engage, influence, and align diverse stakeholders (business, product, architecture, development) and manage expectations effectively
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities, with the ability to make data-driven recommendations and support solution design decisions
  • Good understanding of system architecture, databases, and software development lifecycle; able to collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Experience owning products or key solution domains, working cross-functionally with development teams to ensure high-quality delivery and continuous improvement
  • Practical experience in UAT and quality assurance: defining test scenarios, coordinating user testing, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet business needs
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English (spoken and written) — comfortable leading workshops, presenting to stakeholders, and producing clear documentation
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and change management mindset: able to see the bigger picture, support digital transformation initiatives, and help stakeholders adopt new processes and solutions
  • You are proactive, structured, and comfortable mentoring junior BAs, taking ownership of end-to-end analysis activities, and collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members

Who are we?

Amaris Consulting is an independent technology consulting firm providing guidance and solutions to businesses. With more than 1000 clients across the globe, we have been rolling out solutions in major projects for over a decade – this is made possible by an international team of 7,600 people spread across 5 continents and more than 60 countries. Our solutions focus on four different Business Lines: Information System & Digital, Telecom, Life Sciences and Engineering. We’re focused on building and nurturing a top talent community where all our team members can achieve their full potential. Amaris is your steppingstone to cross rivers of change, meet challenges and achieve all your projects with success.

At Amaris, we strive to provide our candidates with the best possible recruitment experience. We like to get to know our candidates, challenge them, and be able to give them proper feedback as quickly as possible. Here's what our recruitment process looks like:

Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!

Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities!

Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

As you know, every person is different and so is every role in a company.  That is why we have to adapt accordingly, and the process may differ slightly at times. However, please know that we always put ourselves in the candidate's shoes to ensure they have the best possible experience.
We look forward to meeting you!
