ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to lead functional analysis and regulatory change initiatives within a Private Banking environment. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between Business and Technology teams, driving end-to-end delivery of tax regulatory solutions while ensuring compliance with international tax reporting regulations. This role requires strong domain expertise in Private Banking Operations together with hands-on experience in Tax Regulatory Reporting, enabling you to challenge business requirements, advise stakeholders, and work closely with development teams to deliver robust technology solutions.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Partner with business users, Product Owners, and regional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements and solution specifications.
  • Lead business analysis activities for Private Banking Tax Regulatory initiatives, supporting regulatory changes such as German Tax, Client Tax Statement Reporting, AEOI/CRS, FATCA, and IRS 871(m).
  • Act as the bridge between Business and Technology teams, ensuring requirements are well understood and delivered through effective collaboration with developers and solution architects.
  • Analyze business processes, identify functional gaps, and recommend practical solutions that improve regulatory reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Support end-to-end project delivery, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing (SIT/UAT), deployment, and post-production support.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to review solution designs, validate functional testing, investigate production issues, and ensure successful implementation.
  • Collaborate with multiple application teams on cross-system initiatives, performing impact assessments and ensuring seamless system integration.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and stakeholder meetings while managing communication across regional teams in Asia and Europe.
  • Produce and maintain key project documentation, including functional specifications, user stories, business process flows, meeting minutes, and project artefacts.
  • Contribute to project governance by supporting planning, risk management, release activities, and ensuring solutions comply with business, regulatory, security, and architectural standards.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of overall IT experience, including at least 8 years in Banking IT and 5 years delivering regulatory change initiatives within a Private Banking environment.
  • Mandatory hands-on experience in one or more of the following regulatory domains: Tax Regulatory, German Tax Reporting, Client Tax Statement Reporting, AEOI/CRS, FATCA, or IRS 871(m).
  • Strong knowledge of Private Banking operations, financial products, and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Experience working with core banking platforms such as Olympic, Temenos Transact, Avaloq AAA, or equivalent banking systems.
  • Proven experience gathering business requirements, conducting functional analysis, and producing General Functional Specifications (GFS), Detailed Functional Specifications (DFS), business process documentation, and user stories.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), with experience supporting solution design, development, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), release management, and production implementation.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
  • Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence is preferred.
  • Familiarity with tax reporting platforms such as EasyTax, FiTax, SECTRAS, WM Daten, SIX, as well as Client Management Systems, Data Warehouses, and batch processing applications, will be an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities to engage stakeholders across business and technology teams in multicultural environments.
  • Able to work collaboratively with global teams across Europe and Asia and provide support during flexible working hours, including weekends when required during tax reporting periods.
