Job description
We are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our automotive engineering team. In this role, you will ensure that safety-critical systems comply with ISO 26262 throughout the product development lifecycle. You will contribute to the definition, implementation, and verification of functional safety activities for advanced automotive technologies, including electrified powertrain, battery management systems, and power electronics.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will develop safety documentation, support technical reviews, and contribute to safety audits while promoting compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) for automotive systems.
- Develop and maintain Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), Technical Safety Concepts (TSC), and Safety Cases in line with ISO 26262.
- Define and manage functional safety requirements throughout the system development process.
- Collaborate with system, hardware, software, testing, and supplier teams to ensure safety requirements are properly implemented.
- Prepare, review, and maintain functional safety documentation and work products.
- Support confirmation reviews, safety assessments, and ISO 26262 compliance activities.
- Participate in internal and external audits by preparing evidence, tracking findings, and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Promote traceability of safety requirements across the complete development lifecycle.
- Lead technical discussions and provide guidance on functional safety topics across cross-functional teams.
Required Profile
- 7–10 years of experience in Functional Safety within the automotive industry.
- Strong practical knowledge of ISO 26262 and its application to automotive product development.
- Hands-on experience preparing safety deliverables such as HARA, FSC, TSC, Safety Cases, Safety Plans, FMEA, and FMEDA.
- Experience supporting or participating in ISO 26262 assessments and audits.
- Solid systems engineering background in one or more of the following areas:
- Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- High-voltage/traction systems
- Power electronics (Inverter, DC/DC)
- ADAS/Autonomous Driving
- Passive Safety
- Good understanding of safety analysis techniques such as FTA, FMEDA, SPFM/LFM, PMHF, and other quality or problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with requirements and safety management tools such as Systemweaver, Medini, JIRA, XFMEA, DOORS, Codebeamer, Jama, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in international engineering environments.
- Analytical, organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under project deadlines.

Salary Range: From 53,333 SEK to 66,667 SEK (gross per month)
The stated salary falls within the established salary range for the position and is determined based on experience, skills, and level of responsibility, in accordance with our policy of fair and non-discriminatory compensation.
