Job description
We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer who will design and implement robust test automation architectures for complex enterprise applications. You will work with Rest Assured or Selenium to build scalable automation frameworks and will also be responsible for integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into our software testing and automation processes.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and secure software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
-
Test Automation Architecture
- Design, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks using Rest Assured (API testing) and/or Selenium (web UI testing).
- Define and enforce automation standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Build reusable components, libraries, and utilities to increase automation coverage and maintainability.
-
Test Design & Implementation
- Analyze business and technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to design test scenarios and test cases.
- Develop and maintain automated regression, smoke, and integration test suites.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
-
LLM-based Testing & Automation
- Design and implement LLM-assisted test generation (e.g., generating test cases, test data, edge cases from requirements or code).
- Integrate LLMs into the test automation pipeline (e.g., for log analysis, defect clustering, flaky test analysis, or test case optimization).
- Experiment with and evaluate LLM-based tools and frameworks to improve test coverage, productivity, and defect detection.
- Define guidelines and guardrails for safe and effective use of LLMs in testing (prompt design, validation, and review processes).
-
CI/CD & DevOps Integration
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Monitor and optimize test execution time, stability, and reliability in the pipeline.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to ensure shift-left testing and early defect detection.
-
Quality & Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in code reviews for test automation code and contribute to improving overall code quality.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior QA engineers and testers.
- Contribute to test strategy, test plans, and quality metrics; report test results and quality risks to stakeholders.
-
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
-
2+ years of hands-on experience in test automation.
-
Strong experience in building automation frameworks with:
- Rest Assured for API testing and/or
- Selenium WebDriver for web UI testing.
-
Solid programming skills in at least one of the following: Java, C#, or Python.
-
Experience with test frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, NUnit, PyTest) and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle).
-
Practical experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
-
Experience with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies.
-
Good understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, system, performance, etc.).
-
Experience or strong interest in:
- Using LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, other generative AI tools) to support test design, test data generation, or automation code.
- Designing or contributing to LLM-based workflows in software testing.
-
Strong communication skills in English.
- Must reside in İstanbul.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow, Behave).
- Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, etc.).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and testing in containerized environments.
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and testing cloud-native applications.
- Previous experience in banking, finance, or telecom domains is an advantage.
- Experience in test data management and service virtualization.
- Experience in AI/ML testing or model validation is a strong plus.
