At Amaris Consulting, we partner with leading organizations across the Netherlands to drive complex digital transformations. For one of our key clients, we are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to strengthen our team in developing robust, future-ready data solutions.
Your Role
As a Data Engineer, you will play a central role in designing, building, and maintaining resilient data pipelines and ETL workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with software developers, data analysts, and cloud specialists to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and ready for use across the organization.
Your key responsibilities:
- Develop data integration solutions using Java 11, Spring Boot, and JdbcTemplate
- Design and implement efficient ETL processes for data transformation and processing
- Build RESTful APIs and web applications using modern development frameworks
- Optimize data models and SQL scripts for performance and scalability
- Work in cloud environments such as AWS, focusing on reliable and scalable architectures
- Contribute to software architecture discussions, applying design patterns and best practices
- Participate in the full development lifecycle: from analysis and coding to testing, debugging, and deployment via GitHub and TFS
- Collaborate within an agile team with a strong focus on code quality and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
Must-have qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a software or data engineer with a strong focus on Java development
- Proven experience with Spring Boot, RESTful Services, Gradle, Maven, and JDBC/JdbcTemplate
- Solid knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and ETL development
- Strong understanding of design patterns and object-oriented design principles
- Hands-on experience with IDEs such as IntelliJ or Eclipse
- Experience with testing frameworks like Mockito
- Familiarity with version control using GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Vertica or other columnar databases
- Experience with agile methodologies and tools like TFS
- Good command of Dutch – a plus for internal collaboration
- Experience working in AWS or other cloud platforms
