Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!
Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities!
Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job Description
As a Mechanical Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting elements for grooming and beauty devices, from the initial concept to mass production. You will translate user and product requirements into innovative technical solutions, contributing to the further development and optimization of our products.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop cutting elements for grooming and beauty devices such as shavers, trimmers, clippers, body groomers, and epilators.
- Translate user, commercial, and functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Design and engineer innovative cutting element modules.
- Ensure the functionality, performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability of cutting elements.
- Plan, execute, and oversee the development of cutting element functions.
- Generate and document technical knowledge for further product development.
- Contribute to strategic decisions with your expertise.
- Provide input for roadmap and strategy discussions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to drive innovation and build strong teams.
Your Profile
- Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
- Interest in understanding the fundamental principles and mechanisms behind product functionality.
- Experience in function development for consumer products.
- Familiarity with modern development techniques and prototyping.
- Passion for solving complex technical challenges, with a drive to develop theoretical or empirical models.
- Skills in Python, FEM, and CAD are a plus.
- Quality-driven mindset; experience with Design for Six Sigma is a plus.
- Ability to balance creative innovation with practical realization.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to think outside the box.
- Proactive team player with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
