During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. Job description

The focus of this position is on understanding the end-user issues, use cases, future needs on sample preparation; then translating them in product requirements and / or functions; then verifying that the solutions are indeed fulfilling the insights. You will work closely with architects, project managers within R&D, and colleagues outside R&D such as business unit, sourcing, operations, and service.

Role/Responsibilities

  • You have a comprehensive view on the Cryo-EM workflow and promote its adoption throughout all layers of R&D Department;
  • author and actively maintain application requirements, specifications and definitions of designs from a workflow perspective:
    • by collaborating with other Application teams and Business Unit to translate the general needs of our customers into solutions,
    • to guide architects and designers on the workflow aspects of the modules, systems and software.
    • by validating that functional and non-functional end-user requirements are fulfilled in the designs of new systems, modules and software functionalities.
  • develop and maintain application roadmaps and stay connected with customers;
  • drive innovation by generating new intellectual property on applications and methods;
  • you write test plans, design test cases, carry out and/or coordinate the execution of these test cases, report issues, and write test reports with recommendations;
  • coordinate and participate in product and process FMEA’s, SRA’s and other risk identification and management practices;
  • participate in the creation of (interactive) user guides, documentation and training materials, and verify the completeness and correctness thereof. You support rollout of new products at launching;
  • guide and support internal and external engineers with solving issues and answering questions in your area of expertise.

 

You are/you can/you have

  •  University Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Bioengineering or Life Science and 5+ years of industrial experience.
  • Shown hands-on experience with Cryo-EM methods and protocols.
  • Knowledge in at least one of the areas:
    • microfluidics
    • optical detection
    • fluid handling cryo components
    • surface chemistry
    • protein purification and biochemical/biophysical characterization
  • Confirmed experience of creating intellectual property.
  • Experience with statistical engineering tools and ability to handle large amount of data.
  • Mentality of continuous improvement of the Cryo-EM workflow.
