Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!
Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Job description
We are seeking a Functional Engineer to oversee the integration and conduct functional testing of our OMP planning solution within the S4/HANA environment, ensuring the preservation of existing business functionality.
In this position, the individual will participate in a migration project to S4/HANA and work closely with our business partners, technical teams, project teams, and our software vendor (OMP) to facilitate a seamless integration with the S4 system.
The Role of a Functional Engineer
- Oversee the technical aspects of the OMP integration with SAP S4/HANA, including the installation and configuration of the OMP Namespace and the Advanced Download Configurator (ADC).
- Comprehend the core functionalities and template designs of the existing planning systems, driving integration solutions that ensure seamless support for the current templates, particularly in the areas of Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning.
- Collaborate with functional squads (primarily in the SNP and DP area) to synchronize integration modifications and assist with user story grooming, while guiding engineers in transforming these user stories from the backlog into functional code.
- Assist squad members in troubleshooting technical challenges related to functional requirements, providing guidance on implementing solutions aligned with the squad's technology strategy.
- Ensure high-quality code is produced by squad members (software vendors), characterized by thorough documentation, adherence to standards, efficiency, and maintainability. Assist with project deliverables and documentation in alignment with our SDLC methodology and best practices.
- Lead the testing and deployment processes of software solutions, including maintaining test scripts for new functionalities and ensuring adequate automated testing to uphold quality outputs, particularly in functional areas related to planning.
- Provide updates on the status of feature delivery, functionality implementation, and application rollouts within the planning domain.
- Support capacity and release planning efforts, coordinating with project timelines and high-performance teams (HPT) to align deliverables with functional requirements in DP and SNP.
- Aid in the investigation and resolution of escalated incident and problem tickets, including conducting root cause analyses (RCA) to mitigate future disruptions in the DP and SNP areas.
Profile Requirement
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, ideally within the life sciences sector:
- Proficient in supply chain, planning, and production process flows.
- Solid functional knowledge of SAP and OMP:
- Familiarity with SAP MM and PP processes, along with related master data.
- Hands-on experience with one or more OMP modules, such as OMP DP, SNP, PP/DS, or E2E.
- Understanding of SAP and OMP data models.
- Knowledge of SAP-OMP integration:
- Experience with the OMP Namespace and Advanced Download Configurator (ADC).
- Proficient in using iDocs and remote function calls (RFC).
- Technical skills:
- Knowledge of SAP Basis, including logical paths and tRFC.
- Proficiency in ABAP, particularly focused on remote function calls.
- Experience with OMP installation processes.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, specifically AWS.
- Understanding of security protocols, including Active Directory/IDMS, as well as AWS and RDS configurations.
