We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Substation Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing high voltage (HV) electrical substations, with a deep understanding of design concepts, specifications, and tools. This role requires fluency in English and French, with Dutch being a nice-to-have. The candidate should have 4 to 6 years of experience in the field.
Your Responsibilities

Designing High/Medium/Low Voltage Electrical Substation Plans:
- Create 2D and 3D technical drawings of electrical substations, including the representation of electromechanical equipment (structures, gantries, circuit breakers, disconnectors, power transformers, surge arresters, instrument transformers - CT, PT, etc.).
- Develop cable routing (including accessories), gantry and pylon layout plans, and equipment placement according to project specifications.
- Design grounding networks and foundations associated with the equipment and buildings to be installed.

Compliance with Electrical Network Operators' Requirements and Standards:
- Understand the requirements of electrical and mechanical standards, such as minimum safety distances between equipment and protection zones against electrical arcs, as well as fire safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and the requirements imposed by network operators or producers.

Designing Control and Command Buildings:
- Create plans for control and command buildings of substations, including the layout of control cabinets, communication systems, protection, and measurement equipment.
- Consider specific needs related to electrical safety, access, handling, ventilation, fire safety, and ergonomics for operating personnel.

Establishing Material Lists Based on Established Plans:
- Prepare detailed material lists based on the established plans to ensure all necessary components are accounted for.
About You
Profile Requirements:

Education: Bac+2 to Bac+3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a designer in the field of high voltage (HV) electrical substations.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design software (Microstation, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Good understanding of HV substation layout concepts and associated equipment (circuit breakers, disconnectors, CT, PT, transformers, GIS, etc.), grounding networks, foundations, buildings.
- Knowledge of the principles of equipment arrangement for protection and control-command systems.
- In-depth knowledge of standards related to HV substations (safety standards, minimum distances, etc.).

- Team player, rigorous, flexible, results-oriented, and capable of communicating/recommending with project engineers.
- Proactive in design processes.
