We are currently seeking an entry-level Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at Amaris Consulting in Belgium. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow within the field of data engineering, while working with cutting-edge technology.

  • Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems. 
  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices. 
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants and technical personnel on project design and implementation. 
  • Create custom software components (e.g., specialized UDFs) and analytics applications. 
  • Mine hidden insights from company databases to drive product development strategies through Machine Learning techniques. 
  • Institute processes that verify data integrity across multiple databases related to primary datasets used by the organization's departments. 
  • Evaluate new or emerging technologies in data processing for potential use within the company.

You are an ambitious graduate from a top-tier engineering school looking for your first professional challenge as a Data Engineer. You have strong analytical skills coupled with excellent communication abilities which make you stand out among your peers. Your attention-to-detail is unmatched but what truly sets you apart is your passion for turning raw data into meaningful solutions that can propel businesses forward. 

 

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics or equivalent field of study 
  • Familiarity with big data tools such as Hadoop, Hive or Pig would be advantageous. 
  • An understanding of SQL database structure along with proficiency in SQL queries 
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java or R 
  • A strong understanding of data structures and algorithms 
  • The capacity to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French or Dutch. 
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience.
