Job description

As a Data Governance Specialist at Amaris, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our Data Governance initiatives, ensuring that data quality improvements are progressing across various domains and areas.

  • Monitor and advance Data Governance initiatives to enhance data quality.
  • Hold meetings with Data Champions in conjunction with the Data Office to track progress, identify new needs, and address any data incidents.
  • Prepare for monthly Committees with Data Champions, highlighting data project updates, risks, and data service usage metrics within the area.
  • Generate Data Governance documentation, adapting global policies/standards/guidelines to local contexts, and committee presentations.
  • Support the implementation and use of data governance technology and tools to back data maturity and compliance, such as data glossaries, data catalogs, master data management (MDM), and data lineage.
  • Oversee and/or use Data Governance tools like Alation, ADA, CRS DQ Scorecard, etc.
  • Propose improvements in data cycles, domains, and the responsibilities of Data Champions/Data Leaders to enhance continuous data quality improvement.
  • Drive awareness of the importance of data quality (benefits) and manage the cultural shift it entails.
  • Support business areas and corporate functions in complying with national and international data regulations and laws.

  • Proven track record in managing Data Governance initiatives and projects.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance tools such as Alation, ADA, CRS DQ Scorecard.
  • Strong understanding of data quality improvement processes and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in working within an agile development environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance or a related area.
  • Fluency in English/Spanish (both written and spoken).
  • Experience in fostering a data-centric culture within an organization.
  • Experience in responsive adaptation of global policies to local standards.

Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.
